We are a passionate and innovative early-stage climate tech startup on a mission to tackle some of the most pressing environmental challenges of our time - steel and cement manufacturing. Our company has IP for an oxygen sorbent and we are designing an air separation unit prototype operating on vacuum pressure swing absorption principles. This high-temperature process can fill current industrial needs and lower the cost of point-source carbon capture. Beyond this, we are exploring use of our oxygen sorbent material in other processes, from solid fuel conversion for power generation to hydrogen production, with inherent carbon capture potential. We believe our technology has the potential to transform the carbon handling landscape.
We are looking for a process engineering intern who shares our vision and can bring technical expertise in prototyping, fabrication, heat transfer, and control systems to our growing team. If you are driven, creative, and ready to start building, we want to hear from you.
About the Role:
As a mechanical engineering intern, you will be a core member of our process design and fabrication process. You’ll play a key role in building our prototype and scaling our operations. This is a unique opportunity to shape a company from the ground up and make a lasting difference in the fight against climate change. This position has equity compensation and the expectation to join the leadership team.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the technical design of our bench scale prototype reactor, leveraging your expertise in process engineering. Contribute to fabrication and testing of our prototype. Foster a collaborative and innovative company culture focused on developing carbon capture technology Work with the founding team to define and refine our mission, vision, and strategy.
Requirements
Qualifications:
A strong passion for entrepreneurship, independence, and creativity Proven experience in process engineering through lab, work, or coursework and the ability to apply these skills to design and scale innovative technologies. A growth mindset with a hands-on approach to problem-solving and execution. Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills. Curiosity about climate solutions for manufacturing and the energy grid. An interest in the environment and sustainability.
Preferred Experience:
Experience in entrepreneurship, early-stage startups, and leadership. Industry or lab-based experience with control systems Experience in product development and commercialization
