Lead Chemical Process Engineer at Emvolon Inc.

Role:
As the Lead Chemical Process Engineer, you will drive the development of our innovative chemical manufacturing process, pioneering an inventive approach to distributed chemical production and shaping the future of sustainable chemical manufacturing. You will be responsible for driving the execution of pilot and demonstration projects, leading process scale up efforts, providing expert guidance on difficult technical challenges, and driving our efforts to meet aggressive technical milestones. This is an opportunity to play a pivotal role in the development and commercialization of a transformative, cost-effective chemicals production technology. The position is located in either Houston, TX or Woburn, MA.
Responsibilities:
- Lead the design, demonstration, and scale-up of our cutting-edge chemical manufacturing process, utilizing a combination of creative engineering and scientific rigor to refine, and scale our technology.
- Plan, coordinate, and execute field pilot projects to demonstrate and optimize our technology. Improve the chemical process based on feedstock and product specifications from industrial partners and feedback from OEMs.
- Manage relationships with vendors, partners, and other stakeholders to ensure the safe and timely execution of project deliverables.
- Champion the recruitment, development, and mentoring of a world-class engineering team, fostering a culture of excellence, innovation, and continuous learning.
Experience and Qualifications:
- B.S. in Chemical Engineering, Process Engineering, or a related field with 5+ years of relevant industrial experience or M.S. with 2-3+ years of relevant industrial experience.
- Proven track record in the chemical processing industry, with hands-on experience in operations (field locations, pilot plants).
Experience with design, process optimization, cost optimization, and scale-up strategies (P&ID, PFD, FEL1-3 design), especially with modular or skid-mounted technologies, is a plus. - Technical acumen in design of chemical reactors, separation systems, compression equipment, and process control systems. Experience with first-of-a-kind technologies a plus. Demonstrated ability to innovate and solve complex engineering problems.
- Experience managing and executing projects involving multiple stakeholders that include vendors, partners, and customers.
- Strong safety mindset and experience with industrial safety systems such as PHAs and HAZOPs.
- Willingness to work in dynamic environments; start-up experience is a plus.
